A Transformed Kitchen
This kitchen initially had very little counter space due to a super inefficient layout. In order to resolve the functional issues and create a more practical and welcoming kitchen, we stripped it to the studs and started from scratch.
In addition to adding a peninsula, hand-made cabinets, stone countertop, backsplash and new appliances, we also added textural interest with a slatted detail, custom steel shelving and colour blocking elements.

A Bold Bathroom
Photos will never do this bathroom justice! The depth of the large scale terrazzo tiles that clad three of the four walls, created a visceral experience to all who enter. While graphically bold, the dimension and colours of the terrazzo also invited a relaxing balance.
We built a custom made, asymmetrical solid white oak vanity that in addition to increasing storage, also added a sense of warmth and sophistication to the room. Increasing functionality further, we created a pair of parallel niches running wall to wall.
It’s hard to imagine this bathroom started with an 80’s tub/shower combo, dated tiles and free standing vanity. - crazy!

An Inspired Staircase
Function and form marry beautifully in this newly created staircase connecting the main living space to the loft and private rooftop above. We hand built it from solid white oak and mitred the edges for a seamless finish. We had a custom partition made using a unique perforated metal that allowed sunlight from the upper level to sift through and cast a dreamy shadow on the surrounding walls.
In true Schédio fashion, we also added hidden storage below with touch release swinging doors, cut around the stair treads perfectly. - Because who doesn’t love extra storage?!
